Hans Lute - Chief Executive Officer

Hans Lute brings more than 15 years of  Mobile Telecommunications leadership and expertise to Digicel. Hans is now CEO for Digicel Suriname after leading Digicel Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Bonaire Curacao) from 2005 to 2010. Prior to Digicel’s acquisition of Curacao Telecom (CT) in March 2005, and his appointment as Digicel’s CEO of CT, he has been leading CT as General Manager since 1999. Since 1990, he has been Commercial and Technical Manager of Polycom Radio Communications Inc., a privately owned company in the ‘Dutch Caribbean’ island of Curacao (Netherlands Antilles), specialized in Cellular, Paging, Two-Way and Trunking Radio Services. In 1998, Polycom became a ‘monopoly breaker’ when it acquired a license to operate a Cellular Network in Curacao and founded Curacao Telecom (CT) for this purpose. CT deployed its first Mobile (TDMA) Cellular Network in 1999, and successfully established itself as an innovative, reliable and sound player in the Netherlands Antilles Telecommunications Market. CT acquired a license for international telephony in 2000 and expanded its mobile services with a full fledged GSM network in 2002. In addition, CT acquired a license to operate a cellular network in Aruba in 2003. From 1983 to 1990 Hans has served in the Dutch Navy where he specialized in Radio Communications and Operations on board of various Mine-Hunters and Ocean Survey vessels. His first introduction to the Netherlands Antilles was in 1986 when he was stationed in the Dutch Naval Base in Curacao. He has strong commercial, entrepreneurial, technical and leadership skills. Hans’s interests include Scuba Diving, Swimming, Traveling, and dining out.   


Paul Glickman – Chief Financial Officer (Suriname_)
As Chief Financial Officer, Paul is responsible for the financial management of the business and for formulating, directing and implementing the company’s Finance Strategy.  Paul joined Digicel in early 2012, and previously was the Finance Director of Fitness First in The Philippines and Planning Director at Tesco in China and South Korea.  Paul has extensive finance and accounting experience in different markets and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.  He has an MBA degree and an MA in Physics from Oxford University.  Paul interests include photography, having been a professional photographer in London, travel and fitness.
Shivendra Nautiyal - Chief Technical Officer (Suriname)
This role aims to bring coherence in the Technical and IT approach, innovative Telco-grade services and solutions to the end-user, efficient applications to the internal clients, optimizing time and costs as well as raising revenues. He has been in the Caribbean region for almost 3 years and joined Digicel from his previous position as Specialist Customer Support for Ericsson India. With Ericsson India, he was involved with the launch and support of GSM and fixed operators in the India Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Shivendra Joined Digicel Family on July 6, 2005 as Group Core Network Manager based in Jamaica. His role involved successful migration of Cingular Caribbean to the Digicel service layer and he has been instrumental in successful Digicel launches of Turks and Caicos, Haiti, French West Indies, Trinidad, Guyana and El-Salvador.
Deonarine Gopaul - Commercial Director (Suriname)

As Commercial Director Deonarine is responsible for guiding and developing commercial activities of the company; namely marketing and sales. The role also includes defining the right market positioning of the company, conceptualizing new business opportunities, trend analysis and competitors intelligence. Also, assess and propose the establishment of new business relationships and build the company image in the market.

Deonarine joined Digicel on 1st Nov 2006 where he worked for the Digicel Guyana operations. He was transferred to Digicel Suriname on 1st October 2007 and was appointed to his current role on 1st November 2009. Deonarine previously worked in a senior finance position for Geddes Grant (a subsidiary of The Neal & Massy Group of Companies). He is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and a member of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
